Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge – Haiku – Tanka – Haibun

earth the planet
on water dependent
spring clean depollute
not the earth that drinks
the soil retains and puddles
water sustains life
micro macro gigantic
life within on from it
Earth and Water

Daily dependent, pure clean water from my tap, not how it use to be. Perhaps I am wrong, just checked on line, and found it to be polluted intentionally. Brought me down to earth, scared me, read for yourself. Typical Tap Water Content: Chlorine, fluorine compounds, trihalomethanes. Salts of: arsenic, radium, aluminium, copper, lead, mercury, cadmium, barium, all included in the total dissolved contents of most domestic water supplies. Then we have hormones, nitrates, pesticides. I now know why I use a reverse osmoses filter, removes 90 to 95% of TDS’s. Mother earth distils it too, rain, if you hadn’t already guessed, but now even that’s polluted. Global warming doesn’t help, in my opinion, wrongly disputed.

water equals life
earth is its substrata
both cry for help

  1. Wow! These are powerful poems that say much about the conservation of our natural resource of water. Beautiful and haunting. ❤
